World War 2 Wooden Playing Tokens

At the beginning of World War 2, the War Production Board was established as a government agency on January 16, 1942 by executive order of President Roosevelt to regulate materials and fuels. These restrictions included metal, so Monopoly Games shifted from metal to many different types of wooden tokens. Colors, shapes and sizes varied with these tokens. These were found mostly in the Dollar Sign and #6 Blue Box Editions.
